There’s no hiding the fact that when something new, the first thing I do is open the box, pop in the battery (if you need a battery), and then turn that thing off and start walking your business. I do not want, which is to activate the device, and knowing you have some information-jacking botnet malware program running on it. That’s a bad day. That’s exactly what happened to several thousand people who recently took a HTC Vodafone Spain Magic, the wireless service provider has recently admitted.

Mariposa’s agent officially infected botnet somewhere in the stadium of 3,000 handsets, the company told the Spanish press on Thursday. The company had met its Iberian branch, along with representatives from Panda Software, which really caught the infringement of malware from the beginning. Vodafone Spain has a magic HTC a company representative to test and that when this whole problem started, back in early March. While Butterfly is the big name to be launched at any time, it seems that other malware strains were also found in many of the Magics HTC. How was the theft of information from the program to find its way into phones? Using SD cards. A second infection was also confirmed by the announcement earlier this week when a phone made its way to a security consultant S21sec.

Vodafone Spain is now in the works for MicroSD cards replacement of 3,000. Not because I think it is a precautionary measure, but because it has fully admitted that 3,000 devices are more than likely infected. Fortunately, Vodafone is investigating the situation, and so far has found that the event is a “localized” and not spread through other terminals of Vodafone Europe. This is definitely shocking news, but we are pleased that the wireless service provider is to admit the problem and do what they have to do to fix the situation. We hope you can cut off the source and prevent something like this happening again.

As close as I come to playing a musical instrument is the occasional round of Rock Band. If you are a guitarist looking for an easier way to record your songs and jam sessions, using your iPhone or iPod touch the Guitarbud device is just what you need.

The Guitarbud is a cable that lets you connect your guitar directly to your iPhone or iPod touch and offers a headphone jack as well for private listening. Once connected your guitar playing can be recorded using various iPhone or iPod applications.

Once you are done playing you can send your music off to friends via email. The cable is six feet long and doesn’t take up lots of space when you are on the road. The guitar plug is 1/4″ and the headphone and iPhone plugs are 1/8″. The cable requires iPhone OS 3.0 or later and works on second gen iPod touch players with OS 3.0 installed.

It’s the future of mobile phone calls based on VoIP? Quite possibly, if Skype has nothing to do about it. One of the major announcements are expected at the MWC 2010 is a joint venture of Verizon Wireless and Skype on 16 February.

Just for the fact that Skype is involved in the conference, you know you have something to do with enabling your VoIP service on Verizon phones. According to sources in BusinessWeek, Verizon will start allowing Skype calls to be made over its 3G data network.

Trends indicate that demand for cell phone minutes is slowing, while the focus is shifting to the data. Therefore, it makes sense for Verizon to want to be at the forefront in this regard, especially considering the amount of competition it has with rival AT & T.

AT & T already uses Skype on some of their phones, particularly iPhone, but only via WiFi. The two companies are working on a solution that works on their 3G network, so Verizon is in a crisis time for service work on their phones before AT & T does.

No matter what, the biggest winner of all this is Skype. Landing a deal with Verizon is absolutely huge. The company already has 520 million subscribers, but this adds at least another 90 million potential customers, in addition to new subscribers who want to connect to Verizon phones at no additional cost.

No details on whether the service is available in all 3G phones or terminals, we assume that only available in a smartphone partner (droid, perhaps?) To begin with, and expand after a trial period.

Fed up with HTC legend yet? No, us either, so it’s great to see the Android smartphone – we’re assuming it’s the successor to the highly esteemed HTC Hero – appear in nature again. After his first live performance yesterday, the legend had taken a side-shot over at Android Community.

According to the informant, display the legend is particularly good, and the optical mouse works well. But beyond that the phone is very similar to what is offered in the hero, although slightly faster Qualcomm MSM 7227 to 600 MHz processor is supposed to do video capture and graphics faster performance.

Also mentioned was a March 2010 release for Android 2.1 to the hero, apparently confirming a period of time we’ve heard before. Do not be surprised to see the legend HTC will make its official debut at the Mobile World Congress 2010 next week.

My Russian is unfortunately limited to “hello” and therefore can not interpret the details of this Aspen carrying Sergey Kuzmin, but we can almost guess that is to expose how well the Sony Ericsson.

As mentioned before, the Aspen features a 2.4 inch touch screen QVGA, full QWERTY keyboard, UMTS / HSPA (double or triple band, depending on the region), WiFi and Bluetooth, along with a 3.2 megapixel camera. There is also a GPS, a microSD card slot and stereo speakers, FM radio with RDS and 3.5mm headphone jack. To make matters worse, the Aspen Sony Ericsson works with Windows Mobile 6.5.3.

The video shows the interface for Windows Mobile 6.5.3, and several menus, and compares with some of Apple, Nokia, and RIM models. At first glance, WinMo 6.5.3 looks good and fast, so check out the vid for yourself.

Well, we can all blame Hulu for the start of the non-plus-free content movement now since Sony may also begin to charge users for access to PSN. This does not encourage me to get the new PS3 was considering, Sony.

PSN chief said in an interview with IGN today: “Perhaps a greater response to a minor issue, but I think there are just tremendous improvements to the PlayStation Network, which brings me to your last question: Do we charge for it or by Why do not charge for it? It’s been our philosophy to not charge for it since launch so far, but Kaz was recently on the record as saying it’s something we’re seeing. I can confirm that too. That’s something we’re actively thinking. What is the best approach if we were to do that? “You know, there are ads at this point in time but it’s something we’re thinking.”

So what exactly Sony charge me? The ability for multiple players in online gaming, like how Xbox Live is currently operating? Or maybe some quality content that can push out? Feel free to chime in, PS3, or candidates for PS3 owners.

Sony Ericsson have been looking at the Nokia E72 for its design of Aspen? Perhaps not so bad a thing – the E72 is a pretty decent phone, after all – but you go through brief preview-first team that sounds could have been made to spend a little more time on the QWERTY keyboard. They estimate that the keys “are a bit too slippery,” we did not have a problem with the E72.

It is a shame because otherwise the Aspen feels comfortable in your hands. ” Other details are scarce, beyond a tour of what Windows Mobile 6.5.3 brings to the table, but Sony Ericsson is also charged to your SlideView user interface – like the XPERIA X2 – which has shortcuts to various simple applications integration with core Facebook.

The Aspen is one of Sony Ericsson phones that are expected to play with the Mobile World Congress 2010 in a couple of weeks, so we reserve the trial until then. It is due to go on sale in Q2 2010.

Motorola has announced that the slider phone EAT cold land on the Verizon Wireless network. The phone is the first Motorola device to present MOTOBLUR Verizon, Android corporate social network aggregator service. Packing a sliding form factor similar to the droid, the EAT has a smaller 3.1 inch capacitive touchscreen HVGA along with a hardware QWERTY keyboard, 3 megapixel camera and autofocus EVDO Rev.A.

The phone also has a touch sensitive pad for navigation and is preloaded with Google applications like Gmail, Google Talk, and more. The phone will be sold with a 8GB microSD card installed and compatible with Bluetooth A2DP, HID, HSP, HFP, AVRCP, and profiles of the GFP.

Consume will also ship navigation with Google Maps installed and ready to use instead of Google Maps for navigation. That’s because the Motorola software engineers obviously have not got their act together enough, however, as the EAT runs Android 1.6 instead of 2.1, we’re guessing it’s the fault of MOTOBLUR. However, you get aGPS, WiFi b / g, Bluetooth, a 3.5mm jack for headphones, DLNA support and a speakerphone with dual microphone noise cancellation.

There is also the Exchange account support, a microUSB port and an aluminum housing. They will devour for Verizon Wireless Motorola come March 2010, no word on the prices of phone for now, but Verizon’s voice and text plans for the smart phone will start at $ 39.99 and the data package is $ 29.99 a month for unlimited access.
