One of the bright spots of CES 2010 was the scene of the projector. Home theater, games and 3D projectors were abundant. This peak projectors that are getting brighter, higher resolution, and add innovative touches.
Although television is showing at CES generate the most buzz in the 3D, we were pleased to see also the introduction of several 3D projectors ready for home-theater and educational use. The PJD6531w ViewSonic is a 3,000 lumen DLP projector capable of 2D or 3D operation.
It is designed for table use, but can also be mounted on a roof for use in a classroom or meeting room. Along with the peak projectors listed below, Optoma announced the first two models in its line of projectors Gametime. Both the GT360 and GT720 are 3D ready and optimized for use with gaming platforms, the Nintendo Wii to the GT360 and GT720 for the Wii, Microsoft Xbox and Sony PlayStation. Sanyo plans to launch half a dozen more clever 3D projectors in the first six months of 2010.
Now, at the Peaks. Microvision demos of the production version of its ShowWX expected, the first peak laser projector we’ve seen. He still has some kinks to iron, but the laser projectors have a great advantage over other technologies: it is necessary to focus them, never, because of the nature of laser light parallel.
Optoma 3M and everyone went away with its third generation of pico projectors. 3M Pocket Projector MPro150 showed her on the basis of its predecessor, MPro120, offering both a built-in memory and micro SD card slot, 15 lumens brightness rating and a suite of applications for business and recreation. Acer responded with a pair of projectors peak, PK201 and PK301, both with 854-by-480 native resolution (16:9 aspect ratio widescreen).
The PK201, Optoma, which he sees as a companion for mobile devices, is valued at 20 lumens in bright mode, 10 lumens in standard mode. Optoma Bills PK301 as a business tool, a companion for netbooks projection, which cites a brightness of 50 lumens when using AC power, 20 with battery power. Even 20 lumens are considerably brighter than previous generation models.
Favi Entertainment is also introducing a light projector 50-peak business, RIOL Favi-Q, and a consumer counterpart, the RIOL-V. The latter is a model for WiFi that uses Linux to run web applications, the company sees it as a hybrid projector / media player.
HD resolution projectors Peak is still a dream, but can not be far off. Syndiant, a manufacturer of high-resolution microdisplays Pico Projector, partnered with Foryou Electronics Multimedia to a prototype demonstration of 1024-by-600-shirt pocket projector [(see picture on this blog entry) designed for use with relatively high-resolution devices like laptops.
One accessory that creates a lot of buzz at CES is the host of BlackBerry. When connected to a projector or monitor, this adapter allows people to run a PowerPoint presentation directly from your BlackBerry smartphone.
We are looking forward to testing and review this BlackBerry and many more of these projectors as they become available. We hope that the reality live up to its promise.
