NEC has already announced a new LCD display this week called PA241W aimed at graphics professionals who need accurate color. That screen had a lot of features high-end and as a result had a high price too. NEC has now announced a new budget LCD called AS171.
The screen is a 17-inch unit with a native resolution of 1280 x 1024. The connectivity options including VGA and DVI and the contrast ratio of 900:1. The display has a 5ms response time and position has tilt adjustment. The green features of the display include a rating EPEAT Silver and Energy Star 5.0 and 5.0 of TCO compliance.
NEC promises that the display consumes 21% less energy than the model it replaces, and mercury has 50% less in design than its predecessor. The machine is configured to send in February for $ 159 with a three-year warranty. Kermit would love this thing.
