The new Sony BRAVIA XBR-60LX900, XBR-52LX900, 46LX900 and XBR-XBR40LX900 have a feature that I have not found in any other set yet. These games include a new feature called “Intelligent Presence Sensor, which automatically detects the faces of people visiting the set, and optimizes the picture for your viewing pleasure. Under the bright lights of the CES, I find it hard to tell exactly how well they work in a real world situation, but it’s an interesting concept.
Besides being able to adjust the image quality to see the location function, the sets can also be set to prevent children from sitting too near the TV, the screen automatically faint when they get too close.
TheLX900 Sets offer a bright LED edge-lit 1080p LCD, and includes full support to view 3-D programming, both will be sold with a pair of active Full HD 3-D shutter glasses. The exhibition also includes wireless internet access and the ability to Motionflow 240Hz to keep images smooth as silk.
The four models will be delivered sometime this summer. You can register to be notified when the sets are available here. Prices were not announced.
