Google has announced the latest stage of its plans to accelerate the speed of broadband, with a scheme to offer 1 gigabit per second fiber to the home for connections between 50,000 and 500,000 people in the U.S.. Describing its planned service as “competitive”, the fiber network to offer connections to 100 times the broadband speed of the current U.S. average.

With the new system in place, Google is hoping to experiment with new uses of high-speed connectivity. That could include broadband applications and services, along with discussion of the physical forms in which the fiber-to-be implemented at home (FTTH).

While not taking sign-ups for now, Google is calling for information - the communities and service providers - to help them decide on their initial implementation areas. The answers will be accepted until March 26, and can record the details here.

Google has announced a new product that integrates with your email service Gmail. Buzz builds in Google Gmail, browser instant messaging and video chat, and focuses on sharing with other Gmail users. There are also pages on Google buzz.google.com Buzz for iPhone and Android, along with new versions of Google Maps - with the integration of War - for Android, S60 and Windows Mobile devices.

Auto-next - Buzz takes advantage of Gmail’s record of frequent contacts, automatically establishing contacts based on the email you regularly.

Rich, rapid exchange of experiences - Google Buzz pulls in information from their contacts’ Google Reader, Facebook, Twitter, Picasa, YouTube and other services, even if you do not have an account with this service. Videos and photos are displayed in miniature on the line, but also a personal photo viewer that rises a full presentation of the browser. Links, meanwhile, when pasted in Buzz automatically take pictures of the source URL, and you can click to add to your stream. Meanwhile, there are keyboard shortcuts regular Gmail for quick navigation.

Public and private sharing - When you post something - whether an update or comment - you can choose between public or private comments. Anything goes to Google public user profile and is indexed search, but private, can be added to custom groups of people - friends, family, colleagues, etc - and will be limited to contacts.

Inbox Integration - Google have studied methods to integrate social ETTER updates to your inbox, instead of sending simple emails, messages are marked with a logo of Buzz, and those messages are dynamically updated with new comments . Buzz all the usual features - including full browser slideshow - are functional. They are also integrated @-answers, and write in the comment box automatically stops a car-full of contacts. Sending a @-directed the response to this comment to the inbox of other users.

Only good things - Buzz is designed with the exchange and the recommendation in mind. If several of the comments of a user contacts another element, a user who is not following, it is automatically flagged up in its own flow of Buzz. Then click on the “Recommend to see who took it to be added to the flow of Buzz, and then give your opinion on how appropriate it is that educates recommendation engines.

There is also a mobile aspect to Google Buzz, Google has launched three new mobile products to take Buzz away from the desktop. First up, when you visit Google.com on iPhone or Android device and tap the icon Buzz, your phone will automatically use GPS and try to understand where you are and what business is about. The system uses time of day and other details to provide a list of possibilities, then you are able to add one new buzz, either as text or - in a device Android - for voice recognition.

Under the Buzz Google, the complete sequence of events is pulled into the mobile device. Playing in a place on a map Buzz brings information - such as reviews friends’ - as a new feature that can shoot around in the comments of people physically nearby. Finally, there is a new version of Google Maps with integrated Buzz pulling instantly instead (and the companies that offer) that you can add an update of its current. Meanwhile, in the map itself indicate snacks various geo-tagged Buzz comments that you may review, while in motion.

Buzz While Google initially launched as a consumer product, Google also plans to launch at a later date as a business tool. The company has not given any idea of a firm launch date for the functionality of the company, but regular Gmail users will see Buzz added to their accounts during the next few days. Meanwhile, there are indications of future integration with Google Voice - possibly transcribe phone conversations or power in an update of Buzz - and Google are developing promising integration with other social networking platforms like Facebook Connect.

Google has been busy recently, just days after the monumental update Nexus A multitouch, who have completed the update to version 3.4 of Google Maps that finally supports multitouch pinch-to-zoom, well at least in Google Maps anyway.

The Euro-linked Motorola Milestone (essentially, a robot) ships with multitouch out the window, so that bit of increase and the surprise was not Droid, but nevertheless well received by many. Google Maps 3.4 is available in the Android Market through an update, so Droid owners, get it and start pinching.

Salt on the list? The latest rumors out of China, who is seeking the shade of Motorola and the device can only end the Nexus Google Two. Bearing a striking resemblance to the droid from Motorola, all he knows about Android smartphones is quite what we see in this, ie, which has a sliding QWERTY keyboard, large touch screen and distinctive cord loop.

Without doubt, would coincide with some of the first rumors about the device itself the following mark Google’s Android could bring to the table. Andy Rubin, the Android platform supervisor, suggested in a recent interview that the Nexus next smartphone could have a hardware keyboard and more acceptable to the enterprise market. Back at the launch of the Nexus Original, Google made no attempt to disguise their intention to promote the “Best of Breed” devices – which the Nexus One was only the first – through its new web store.

In this event very, CEO of Motorola was on hand to speak about the importance of Android and the flagship devices, an aspect that has led many to suggest that Google is not limited solely to HTC (Nexus OEM one), but others manufacturers for their devices. No hardware specifications for Motorola’s shadow has been suggested, although it will be the first to welcome on board a narrow QWERTY “, which requires less thumb stretch than previous models from Motorola.

Microsoft has revealed that its Internet Explorer browser, was operated as part of recent cyber attacks on Google’s China-based systems. The software giant said in a blog that a hidden vulnerability in the browser could allow hackers to remotely access and run programs on infected computers.

Microsoft has released initial support to moderate the problem, and is currently working on a formal review of software upgrade. So far, Microsoft “has not seen widespread customer impact, not only targeted and limited attacks exploiting the Internet Explorer 6.

The recent epidemic of attacks was allegedly beaten more than 30 companies like Google and Adobe, but security firms have since claimed that invasions are routine, though the security company McAfee believes that the attacks show a level of sophistication than that of the archetypal cyber, isolated criminal activities. On the other hand, has taken due note is the fact that the web browser story Microsoft has been the brunt of most farms browser security flaw in recent years.

Google has made a bold statement today and most would say it’s time. It has already announced not to censor search results in the Chinese version of the search engine. Apparently, they are serious, even if it ends in the closure of Google.cn. Think it is finally enough. From the Official Google Blog:

We decided that we are no longer willing to continue to censor our results on Google.cn, and so in the coming weeks we will discuss with the Chinese government’s basis on which it could operate a filtered search engine within the law, if at all . We recognize that this may mean having to close Google.cn, and potentially to our offices in China.

Part of Google’s motivation is the recent cyberattacks on Google and “at least twenty companies in other major” in the last month. The attacks and the surveillance they have discovered, along with attempts last year to further limit freedom of expression online led to this decision.

Google love or hate, can not help feeling proud of their actions in this case. Hopefully, other companies also stand.

CES 2010 U.S. approach means that generally have to wait a little longer to hear that some of the most attractive gadgets can make its way to foreign shores, but sounded a couple of Android smartphones already been pledged to the United Kingdom. Electricpig Dell confirmed that the Dell Mini 3 would, perhaps unsurprisingly, went to the UK, along with the joke that the device was apparently “built specifically for the UK in the mind”, while Total Telecom have heard of companies in the UK T-Mobile and 3 which are currently negotiating with Google about Nexus one.

We can not see AT & T is particularly pleased that Dell Soundbite, as the U.S. carrier led the company on-stage before the week as part of his triumphant new line of five solid Android. Dell may estimate that the UK is in terms of smartphones, the U.S. continue in later, even if the Mini 3 ends the launch of AT & T first.

As for Google Nexus One, the HTC-made “Superphone” arrive in the UK on Vodafone initially, although it is available upon request by customers in the UK, provided they do not mind having it shipped from the U.S. . (and therefore payment of import duties and taxes inevitable). Leave O2 and moody, they have said they are currently “no plans” to start the Nexus One, and, in fact, customers should be careful not to buy unlocked cell specifically tested on your network.
