As close as I come to playing a musical instrument is the occasional round of Rock Band. If you are a guitarist looking for an easier way to record your songs and jam sessions, using your iPhone or iPod touch the Guitarbud device is just what you need.

The Guitarbud is a cable that lets you connect your guitar directly to your iPhone or iPod touch and offers a headphone jack as well for private listening. Once connected your guitar playing can be recorded using various iPhone or iPod applications.

Once you are done playing you can send your music off to friends via email. The cable is six feet long and doesn’t take up lots of space when you are on the road. The guitar plug is 1/4″ and the headphone and iPhone plugs are 1/8″. The cable requires iPhone OS 3.0 or later and works on second gen iPod touch players with OS 3.0 installed.

Duality is a silly name, but appropriate for this product. Buffalo has launched the Buffalo duality. The duality is a portable hard drive 500 GB, and a dock for iPhone or iPod, What allows you to save some space on your desk, by coupling two products in a single database.

Two in one. Duality. Get it? These people sure are smart Buffalo. It’s a much better name than twice or SinglyX2. The device has 2 additional USB ports and allows you to synchronize your device with your computer and access the hard drive at the same time.

The price? $ 249.95 at the Apple Store.

Apple rumors are kicking and always focus on the next big thing to come from the company. Many of the latest rumors focus on a new 4th generation iPhone and tablet over Apple rumor. A rumor has emerged the new iPhone that has the next-generation iPhone with a case that is sensitive to touch, as the Magic Mouse. I admit I can be pretty damn cool if true. However, I’m taking this rumor with a big grain of salt.

The rumor originated from Robert Chen, an analyst at Goldman Sachs. The guy allegedly says that the new iPhone launch in June. The new iPhone is also said to have a 5MP camera. I hope he gets an LED flash as well. None of the predictions of analysts are striking, except that the touch sensitive case. I suppose you could use something like that to navigate without the fingers on the screen.

It appears that this rare appearance holder for the iPhone was introduced at CES last week and I missed it. The device is called the Smoothee Steadicam and is the company that makes the fantasy mounts for the cameras used to shoot films and television programs.

I have a video recorded on my iPhone before and to be honest I’m not sure the quality is good enough to justify the Steadicam mount the thing. If you like the idea of recording video with the iPhone’s camera and the idea of holding a great assembly ugly enough to record with this can be for you.

The assembly measures 14.5 “x 2.5″ in the operational configuration and has an ergonomic retractable. The device also includes a DVD that offers advice on how to get the best quality by using the gadget. The price is unknown, but it better be cheap. If it costs too could only buy a better video camera with built-in shake reduction.

Some people like to use gadget holders bracelet that hit above the biceps. But what if you love your iPhone so you want to feel your heart beating? You need a bracelet holder. Thank Phubby. Phubby (a combination of telephone and cubicle) does not necessarily have to be used with an iPhone, but it’s exactly the size and shape of one, and all his press photos than the iPhone, so you know.

How it works Rather clumsy, which is exactly what you’d expect. It is strange to have a heavy object on his wrist, and running a cable from the headphones of your wrist to your ears is just asking for a trip to the city of entanglement, with a stop at Earbuds out of your ears when you reach for the Doorknobville . On the positive side, you can use the iPhone completely, while the Phubby (phub phub phub), as its roof is made of mesh, and is super cheap at $ 13. Verdict? It works, but I can not think why he was for sale on a bracelet.

ION are best known for its USB-enabled turntable and tape, but the company has announced a slightly different type of peripherals at CES 2010 this week. The ionic ITYPE is a full size QWERTY keyboard designed for use with the iPhone or iPod touch, by batteries so you can even take phone.

Easy Text Input in Apple’s smartphone is one of the most common requests we see, since many users have been able to retire, or at least semi-replacing your laptop or netbook with an iPhone. Recently we saw a Bluetooth keyboard driver for the iPhone that allows you to connect any wireless text input peripherals such as a QWERTY mini board folding Stowaway ‘.

It is unclear exactly ION specifications as ITYPE connects to the iPhone, if it’s a wired or wireless hook-up. We are also a little unsure about the keys, which seem a bit too ZX Spectrum for our tastes. However, let’s find out for sure when the ITYPE goes on sale in Q2 2010, price TBA.

Press Release:
ITYPE ION ® transforms iPhone into a ultraportable DESKTOP COMPUTER

Full size desktop keyboard allows fast and accurate text entry on the iPhone

Cumberland, RI (January 7, 2010) – ION (www.ionaudio.com), a technology leader in consumer audio and entertainment, announces ITYPE, desktop keyboard first in the world designed exclusively for the iPhone. ION ITYPE bring to the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas Convention Center, Central Hall Booth 11,714, January 7-10, 2010.

ITYPE is a comfortable, family computer keyboard for use with the iPhone. This first-of-its peripheral type battery power transforms the handheld device from a mobile phone in a ultra-portable screen. ITYPE has a standard QWERTY keyboard layout with full sized keys and complete functionality of a desktop keyboard.

Travelers, tourists and other users of the iPhone on the road will appreciate the weight savings ITYPE, which may enable them to complete journeys without a laptop. “For years, travelers who wanted to find a way out of the office or away from home without having to carry a heavy laptop,” said Gregg Stein, Managing Director, Ion. “ITYPE iPhone becomes the first truly comprehensive travel solution to computing.”

ITYPE ionaudio.com will be available during Q2 2010.
