Lenovo calls raised some eyebrows when he presented what is basically a CULVER ultraportable ThinkPad range in the new X100e, leading to all sorts of questions about whether an AMD Athlon Neo could satisfy the business segment. More Netbook that have been reviewing the single-core 1.6GHz ThinkPad X100e, and while the physical design should not cause too many sleepless nights for a long time lovers of Lenovo, the performance leaves much to be desired.

The keyboard and trackpad are apparently “the best” reviewer Peter Cartwright has been used in a machine of 11.6 inches, and the matte screen, Lenovo also earns points. The AMD can not be a power, but good enough for 1080p playback, but no HDMI output for easy connection of a large screen TV.

Performance is not the only problem, the 6-cell battery is great, but only get 3-4 hours of run time, the bottom of the X100e’s very hot and, in general - at least until dual-core Athlon and Athlon arrive later in 2010 - nothing better than a conventional netbook. From U.S. $ 449 we’re not entirely convinced, but frequent Typers X100e probably should give a look.
